The Family Guide#

This is the friendly starting point for everyone in the family. No tech background needed — each page is written in plain English and tells you exactly what to do.

You don’t have to read these top to bottom. Skim for the thing you need, and when you’re stuck, take a photo of what you’re looking at and text Ben — that’s almost always the fastest fix.

Guides#

  • 📄 Our Documents — our home filing cabinet. Find scanned mail, bills, statements, and important papers, and ask plain-English questions like “when is the property tax due?”

  • 🎬 Movies, Music & Books — our own private Netflix, Spotify, and library. Works in any browser, from anywhere, with your family account.

  • 🔌 Cable & Port Cheat-Sheet — a picture guide to the wires and plugs around the house. Use it to figure out what a cable is, which hole it goes in, and what each computer’s ports are for.

  • 📶 Wi-Fi & Internet — the network names for each house, how to get a guest connected, and what to do when the internet drops.

  • 🆘 If Something Breaks — what every device in the house actually does, what matters day-to-day, and step-by-step fixes for common hiccups (Wi-Fi down, lights not working, and so on).

A note for Mom: you’ve become the go-to person for the computers at the Bedford house, and that’s a lot to take on. These pages exist so you never have to guess. Anything you can’t find here, just call or text — that’s what it’s for.
