Our Documents — Quick Start#
This is our home filing cabinet. Scanned mail, bills, statements, and important papers all live here, and the computer writes a short plain-English summary at the top of each one so you don’t have to read the whole page.
Getting in#
- Open the dashboard and look for the Family group at the top.
- Click Our Documents.
- You’ll be asked to sign in with your normal work/Microsoft account (the same sign-in you use elsewhere). That’s it — you won’t need a separate Paperless password.
If you ever can’t get in, just ask me — it’s usually a sign-in hiccup, not you.
Finding things#
When you open Our Documents, the sidebar on the left has a few ready-made lists:
- Recent Mail — newest documents first. Great for “what just came in?”
- Shared with Me — the documents we both can see and edit.
- Needs Review — things the computer tagged but that could use a human eye.
- By Person — grouped by who the document is from.
There’s also a search box at the top — type a company name, a person, or a word you remember (“Geico”, “water bill”, “passport”) and it searches inside every document, not just the titles.
Reading a document#
Click any document to open it. At the top you’ll see:
- the Summary — a couple of sentences saying what it is, who it’s about, and any important dates or amounts;
- the Tags (like
insurance, medical, tax) and the Correspondent (who it’s from); - the scanned pages themselves below.
Asking questions (the easy way)#
Don’t want to hunt? Go back to the Family group and click
Ask About Documents (or go straight to ask.inaba.network). Type a plain
question like:
What’s our car insurance policy number?
When is the property tax due?
and it will answer using what’s in our documents. Every answer comes with a Sources list — click any source to open the actual document it read from, so you can double-check anything important yourself.
If it says it couldn’t find something, the document may not be scanned yet — that’s a good thing to ping me about.
Fixing a wrong tag or sender#
The computer gets things wrong sometimes. You’re allowed to fix the documents we share:
- Open the document.
- Click into the Tags or Correspondent field, change it, and Save.
That’s it. If you’d rather I clean something up, leave it on the Needs Review list and I’ll get to it.
What to ask me for#
You can read, search, summarize, and re-tag freely. A few things are mine to handle:
- deleting documents,
- adding new people/accounts,
- anything that says “admin”.
When in doubt, leave it and ping me.
